Paul C asked:

I’m looking into getting a newer sports car. I know that toyota made a turbocharged supra, which ran mid 13’s in the quarter mile. My question is, do they make anything today thats competitive with those speeds? And i don’t mean concept cars, or the 2009 supra thats not out yet, or any super cars that are ridiculously priced.

How Will Driverless Cars Effect The Economy?

Filed under: Economics — chatyak @ 2:42 pm
threecharliekilo asked:

I used to think driverless cars would benefit the world, but then I got to thinking about the economic aspects. It would destroy the economy! Think about it, millions of people are employed in driving jobs around the US, probably billions around the world. If driverless cars came around, it would put those people out of work.

Also, imagine how much money other aspects of driving bring in, including things like mods and police tickets just to name a few.

What are your opinions?

Are motorcycles better for the environment than cars?

Brianman3 asked:

Assume that each vehicle only carries one person, and they each travel the same number of miles. Say, 1000 miles.

I heard that motorcycles use 2-cycle engines, which causes for worse pollution, but considering motorcycles’ better gas mileage, my guess is that motorcycles would still be better than cars. Does anyone know for sure?
Apperently I’d heard wrong that motorcycles have 2 cycle engines. But I’ve yet to get a real answer to the question.

If a motorcycle and a car each travel 1000 miles, which is going to pollute more, why, and by how much?

Gerri R asked:

I am looking for a new car. I want one that gets really good gas mileage so I don’t have to waste money on gas all the time.
I know Dodge has a deal where you only pay $2.99/ gallon. But that does not make the car more efficient.
I need a car that does not burn much gas at all.
What are the most efficient cars in the world and what kind of mileage do they get?

Why do you **** American cars?

AL BUNDY: genius, hero asked:

I’m just wondering why some people trash American cars. There are a lot of myths out there, mostly outdated, that anything from Ford, GM or Chrysler is garbage. I disagree with this. My 1998 Mustang is at 139,000 on the original engine and transmission with no problems. My mom’s 1995 Taurus is almost at 200,000 with no problems. There are 5 other American cars in my family over 100,000 that run perfectly. We hang on to our cars, maintain them properly, and they run forever. As for new car fuel economy, the Focus gets better mpg than the non-hybrid Civic and Nissan Sentra. Escape gets better mpg than Rav4. Cobalt gets better mpg than Yaris. Ford has been racking up lots of gains in JD Powers quality ratings lately. They had more top rated vehicles than Toyota in 2007. Honda claims to be most fuel efficient company in America; what a crock that is! They don’t sell any large SUV’s or pickups, so that’s a pretty empty boast. So why do people flock to the foreign brands? I don’t care if their cars are made in the USA by Americans, the money goes to Japan, which makes them Japanese vehicles. Does it make Americans feel good to trash American companies and watch them die a slow death while you buy Toyota? Yes I have owned Honda, Nissan and Hyundai, they are nothing special. I like my Mustang way better. Can you give me a rational, logical reason you prefer foreign brands, without resorting to 80’s myths and/or name calling? Backing it up with facts is a huge plus.
