shawn1980 asked:

I’ve noticed a lot of taxis in my neighborhood that are white Crown Vitorias that have a blue stripe on the side. When I see them, I often confuse them for police cars. Isn’t it illegal to drive a car that looks like a police car?
No, I was gonna buy a white crown victoria with a searchlight when I retire and spend my golden years laughing at people that slow down when they drive by me. Is that inpersonating a police officer?

My mom says if you leave your cars air conditioning on when you turn the car off, so it automatically is on when you turn your car on, that it hurts the engine. Is that true or is she full of BS? It sounds like complete BS to me.

Heather Bree asked:

This is a hommework question for my management class on strategic planning. The question states:
In your opinion, what are the core competencies in the auto industry such as GM, Chrysler, and Ford? How do these competencies help them compete with foreign makers such as Honda, Toyota, Nissan and BMW?

I looked around at all their websites, and the general impression I get is that American cars seem to emphasize performance and innovative body designs. The foreign makers seem to more simplistic in body design and emphasize vehicle longevity. Do you think I’m on the right
track, or do you have another suggestion?
I think I need to clarify that I’m not looking for suggestions on what car to buy. This is a homework question for a MANAGEMENT CLASS. Please consider the question from a management and corporate perspective. What are their marketing strategies?
